Guide
How much do micro-influencers charge?
Most micro-influencer collaborations cost between $25 and $500. Where a deal lands in that range depends on five things — platform, format, engagement, usage rights and exclusivity — and none of them is follower count alone. Here are the benchmarks, the adjustments, and a calculator.
Benchmark rates by platform and format
Typical ranges for creators with 5K–50K followers and healthy engagement (3%+). Treat these as starting points, not rules.
| Deliverable | 10K followers | 25K followers | 50K followers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instagram feed post | $75–$150 | $150–$300 | $300–$500 |
| Instagram Reel | $100–$200 | $200–$400 | $400–$700 |
| Instagram Story (3 frames) | $40–$80 | $80–$150 | $150–$250 |
| TikTok video | $100–$250 | $250–$500 | $500–$900 |
| UGC video (not posted, brand uses it) | $100–$200 | $150–$300 | $200–$400 |
| Gifted collaboration | Product only | Product (+$50–$100 sometimes) | Usually paid |
Ranges reflect commonly reported US micro-influencer pricing and the $100-per-10K-followers rule of thumb. Your engagement rate can move you to the top or bottom of each band.
What moves the price
- Engagement rate (±30%). Above 6%: charge the top of the band. Below 2%: expect the bottom, or gifted.
- Video vs. static (+30–50%). Reels and TikToks take longer and perform better. Price them accordingly.
- Usage rights (+25–50% per month, or 2× for perpetual). If the brand will run your content as an ad, you're licensing an asset, not posting a photo.
- Exclusivity (+20–50%). "No competing brands for 60 days" costs you deals. Charge for it.
- Bundles (−10–20% per piece). A brand buying 3 Reels should pay less per Reel than one — but not less than 2.5× one.
- Niche. Finance, tech and B2B pay more than lifestyle; beauty and food are the most competitive.

How to say it
Put the number on your media kit and let the kit do the talking. When a brand asks "what are your rates?", the answer is a link, not a paragraph. If they push back, offer a smaller deliverable rather than a smaller price: "I can do a Story set at $X" keeps your Reel rate intact.

How much should I charge per Instagram post as a micro-influencer?
A widely used baseline is $100 per 10,000 followers for one feed post — so about $150 at 15K. Add 30–50% for a Reel, and more if the brand wants usage rights or exclusivity. Most micro-influencer deals land between $25 and $500.
Should I accept gifted collaborations?
Early on, yes — gifted deals build your portfolio and your tagged-photo trail, which is how many brands find creators. Once you have 3–5 partnerships, move brands you like to paid, and keep gifted only for products you'd buy anyway.
What are usage rights and should I charge for them?
Usage rights let the brand reuse your content in their own ads or channels. Always charge for them: a common add-on is 25–50% of the base fee per month of use, or a flat fee for perpetual rights. Content a brand runs as an ad is worth more than the post.
Do TikTok creators charge more than Instagram creators?
Per follower, often yes, because TikTok engagement and reach are higher and video is more work. A 20K TikTok creator can reasonably charge what a 30K Instagram creator does for the same deliverable.
Where do I put my rates?
On your media kit. Brands with a fixed budget skip creators who don't list rates because they assume the number will be higher. Kitvine kits show your rate and which collaboration types you're open to.
